Planning Your Own Wedding

June 22nd, 2008 by guillemalahaye

By Dennis Estrada To plan your own wedding is a huge project. It involves a large number of guests, meals, sponsors, decorations, dresses, and so on. The wedding planner needs tremendous amount of time to organize the requirements. Each group of community may have different traditions, beliefs, and customs. For example, the Asian community has the tendency for big wedding. All the relatives will come from different parts of the globe. First, select the best wedding date. Most wedding date falls on the summer months. It is mostly sunny and warm. The weather will not likely to ruin the precious moments of wedding. Memorable wedding dates are Labor Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Christmas Day, or Thanksgiving Day. If you want the most memorable wedding date, you can choose 777 wedding date. The 777 wedding date is a wedding on July 7, 2007. It is easy to remember. The husband will always remember the wedding anniversary. Next, decide how much you want to spend on wedding. The cost of wedding had gone up. Currently, the cost of wedding averages from $15,000 to $20,000. At this stage, the wedding planner creates an overview on theme of wedding, venue for wedding, and reception for wedding. Then, build the guest and sponsor list. Here, the bride and groom decide the number of guests and sponsors. This is the tough part, because you may not want to leave someone out. After, make reservation for the venue of the wedding and reception. During the busy wedding season (summer), the reservation may be a little tough to get. In some cases, you will need to wait a year to make reservation. And after, meet the licensed wedding minister who will wed you. The minister directs how the exchange of vows is coordinated. There may be appropriate and inappropriate things for the wedding. The wedding vows may be the traditional wedding vows which is a safe option. However, the bride and groom may write their own wedding vows. And then, choose your favorite theme for wedding. Depending on the season, some wedding ideas may be appropriate for the wedding. For example, the snow flakes, sparkles, glitters, and white are synonymous for the winter season. Think of winter wonderland, snow flakes, garlands, and sparkles for wedding theme. And, spruce up the wedding with wedding flowers and florist. The wedding flowers add finesse and style to the wedding. Some flowers may be abundant on particular season only. For example, the Aster, Chrysanthemum, Dahlia, Marigold, and Zinnia are fall wedding flowers. Choosing the abundant flower on a particular season, you may pay less for wedding flowers. The florist mainly arranges the flower for reception, centerpieces, hairclips, bouquets, tosses, corsages, hairclips, flower girl baskets, nosegays, buttonholes, and decoration. Next, pick the best wedding dresses and attires. On this precious moment, you would want to look your very best. It is also recommended for the groomsmen look similar with the best man, and bridesmaids look similar with the maid of honor. Next, pick the wedding photographer. The wedding photography captures the magic of the moment. So, you can remember the timeless treasure of wedding. A good photographer will give the negatives to you. So, you can make more copies without asking for permission to the photographer. However, some photographer will insist to keep the negatives for certain period of time. Usually, the photographer will keep for two years. After two years, the photographer throws the negative away. So, you may ask the photographer to give the negatives after two years. Finally, send the wedding invitations to the guests and sponsors. The print shops can customize the invitations which come in many elegant designs. Receiving the wedding invitations, the guests and sponsors confirm their attendance and participation to your wedding. Offshore Oil Rig Jobs

June 15th, 2008 by guillemalahaye

By Claire Calkin While many of the offshore oil rig jobs are physical in nature, many of the rig companies go out of their way to make sure your time spent onboard is an enjoyable one. For instance employees may find themselves living in accommodation wings that meet 4 or 5 star hotel standards - despite the fact that you a living in the middle of the ocean. While you are on board the company will usually meet all food, board and laundry expenses, along with travel and transfer costs. There are a large number of offshore oil rig jobs that are available. The range of employment opportunities include: Driller, Derrickman, Shakerhand or Mudman, Toolpusher, Floormen or Roughnecks, Motorman, Assistant Driller, Crane Operator, Roustabouts, Cleaner/Painter, Storekeeper, Mechanic/Electrician, Sub Sea Engineer, Rig Mechanic, Rig Electrician, Rig Welder, Barge Engineer, Ballast Controlman or Watchstander, Captain and Chief Engineer, Rig Medic and Safety Man. Most offshore oil rig jobs call for a 14/21 day rotation that means you work for 14 days and have 21 off. This equates to you having approximately 3/5 of the year off on holiday. In the offshore oil rig industry, there are opportunities for drilling employment and travel to countries such as: Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, the United States, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Venezuela, Mexico, Russia, Norway, China, Canada and the United Kingdom. Typically salaries for roustabouts and roughnecks (drill deck workers) are approximately US $300 per day. Annual salaries work out to be approximately US $47,000. More specialized jobs such as that of Driller is likely to make around $56,000 per annum, which Toolpushers, Drill Leaders and Supervisors are likely to earn around the US $75,000 - $100,000 mark per year. Entry level positions typically make between US $50,000 - US $80,000 per annum. Trades, technical and professional positions will likely earn between US $70,000 - US $220,000 per annum. The website at http://www.oil-rig-job.com features more information on getting jobs in this industry. Life Offshore - You will be issued with safety boots hard hat safety glasses and coveralls. - Keep a good attitude and be focused on why you wanted to work offshore. - There are smoking rooms at various places on a rig where safety matches will be supplied. - For meals you take off your work gear and eat in the galley. - You may have to work a night shift or two as an oil rig is a 24 hour operation. - Don’t upset the radio operator, medic or chef. Helicopters, medical attention and food are most important. Aboard an oil rig every piece of lifting equipment has a color code on it - this is an indication that it was tested as safe to use on the last lifting equipment check. Only items with the current color code on them should be used. When working in the petroleum industry, don’t bring alcohol, illegal drugs, weapons (of any description) including knives, flammable items, lighters and matches (safety matches will be provided in the smokers room) when working on energy jobs. If working aboard an offshore rig, remove batteries from electrical equipment before checking in you luggage. If you are to be transported by helicopter your mobile phone may be taken from you before you board the helicopter. A number of people working aboard oil rigs work are in support roles such as catering crew and doctors, etc. The following is an outline of what may be expected for doctors or medics. Because of the physical size of rigs, many of these types of roles are sole charged and one must be able to make do with the facilities and resources at end. In the case of doctors or medics based aboard oil rigs, it may be necessary to treat patients suffering from a huge variety of ailments and illnesses. Issues can arise as a lot of the workers aboard oil rig installations may speak foreign languages, so it is critical for the medical personnel to be able to quickly and effectively diagnose the problem. Generally medical staff will work one of two shifts, either day or night. Their role can often also include checking and maintianing stocks of emergency supplies, testing and verifying drinking water supplies are clean, as well as inspecting both raw and cooked foods from the kitchen. They are also often responsible for conducting weekly first aid seminars for all workers aboard the oil rig. Claire Calkin has been working in the oil rig employment industry for over 4 years and during this time has provided countless people with advice and assistance on how to best get jobs in the oil industry. claire@oil-rig-job.com http://www.oil-rig-job.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Claire_Calkin http://EzineArticles.com/?Offshore-Oil-Rig-Jobs&id=80074 hard money lender direct california personal loan with poor credit pay day loans prior lake mn sba 504 loan program

Acupuncture Works for Knee Pain

June 7th, 2008 by guillemalahaye

By Michael Roland Acupuncture is well proven for pain relief. Everyday, thousands of people in the United States alone receive acupuncture for their pain. A recent study sponsored at the National Institutes of Health shows conclusively that acupuncture is effective for the relief of knee pain caused by osteoarthritis. In fact it reduced the need for pain medications by 40% at the same time increasing functionality be 40%. A study from Demark even showed acupuncture to reduce the need for knee replacement surgery. It can also help reduce pain and swelling from tendonitis, bursitis, injuries and from rheumatoid arthritis. If you are in pain, 40% reduction sounds pretty good. No two people have exactly the same level of response but, generally speaking, I like to see 80% reduction in knee pain within eight treatments. Being able to lower your pain medication also means that you lower your risk of side effects associated with long-term drug use. Speaking of side effects, acupuncture has proven to be very safe with a very low incidence of minor side effects. In fact, most people, rather than suffering negative side effects, have a sense of well-being and relaxation after acupuncture. Now thats good medicine! We dont know exactly how acupuncture works. There are two main scientific theories. Gate Theory and endorphins. The Gate Theory suggests that stimulation of the acupuncture needles inhibits certain nerve fibers from relaying the pain message. Another theory suggests that acupuncture stimulates the release of endorphins, a powerful morphine like substance that occurs naturally in the brain. Both theories may have merit, but we are still far from understanding exactly how acupuncture works scientifically. Dont worry. We dont know exactly how some commonly used drugs, like Tylenol work either. Does it hurt? Acupuncture needles are much smaller that most other needles. A good acupuncturist can often insert needles without any pain at all. Once the needles are placed you may feel unique sensation associated with the stimulation of the acupuncture point. Normally six to twelve of the tiny needles are placed near the area of pain or on various other areas on the body. I have treated knee pain successfully using only one point but usually several are needed to affect relief. How long does it take to work? Most of my patients have relief the moment they step off of the treatment table! Some patients will take up to six treatments before experiencing significant relief. Lasting pain relief will usually take several treatments. In my office, I suggest two treatments per week for three weeks, then one treatment a week for two weeks. At this point we will reassess to see if more treatments are needed. Some patients will not need to come in after the course of treatment, while other with chronic conditions, find that regular maintenance treatments are needed to keep the knee pain at bay. There are cases where it doesnt work but, they are relatively infrequent. Acupuncture may be the only treatment needed for knee pain, but its good to know that it works well with other therapies like anti-inflammatories, pain relievers, exercise, physical therapy and massage. Most acupuncturists, including myself are very happy to work with doctors and other therapists when it means getting better results for you. Good Luck and Good Health! Marketing for Window Cleaning Companies

June 1st, 2008 by guillemalahaye

By Lance Winslow There is no doubt whatsoever that about the easiest business to start for someone with little or no upfront capital is a window washing service. But have you ever considered once you start this business how you are going to go out and get customers? How are you going to market this business and what types of advertising will do? What types of customers will pay the best and indeed which types of customers will pay you on time? How much should you charge and what about competition? All these are good questions indeed and so perhaps I should explain to you how to market a window cleaning firm. First you need to decide your market mix and I would say it is best to start out with 25% Business and 75% residential or personal customers. Next I would suggest if you are just starting out to talk to realtors first and Homeowners Associations. You business clientele should be small businesses where the owner is usually present to make sure at the end of the month you can hand them an invoice and they can cut you a check. For other corporate clients like bank branches and such, wait until you build up your reserves, as they may pay you 90-120 days in the rears meaning you will be cleaning for 304 months before you even get paid for the first month. Consider these marketing tips for your window cleaning service in 2006. “Lance Winslow” - Online Think Tank forum board. May 29th, 2008 by guillemalahaye

By Lee Dobbins Although today there has been a boom in herbs and especially using Ayurvedic Herbs in Ayurvedic Medicine for treating illnesses is not new you will probably know that the tradition of using holistic methods has been used for centuries. Many of the herbs and spices that are used in Ayurvedic Medicine are ones that we normally have in our kitchen cabinets. Although these herbs do not originate here they have in fact traveled to us from India. Some of the more popular Ayurvedic Herbs which are used today include Cinnamon, ginger, Gotu Kola, Boswellia, Gymnema and East Indian Globe Thistle all of which can be easily found at your local grocery store or herbal medicine store today. Although Ginger is a common ingredient in many dishes that we eat it also has many medicinal uses as well. It is great as a digestive aid as well being great at helping treat colic, gas and to ease heartburn. However in India where it is known as Sunthi or Adrak is has been used as a tonic to enhance a persons vigor as well as an antidepressant. Gotu Kola is one of the most common herbs found in India and is great for healing wounds and dealing with skin disorders. Plus it is great for dealing with insomnia as well as being an aid to helping lower blood pressure. Dieting: Cut Confusion and Go for a Balanced Meal

May 26th, 2008 by guillemalahaye

By Recardo Gomes If youre confused about the calories to need to cut out of your diet to lose weight, then read on. But first lets get our concepts right. What is a calorie? It is a measure or unit of energy. If you say that a food contain 100 calories, this means that if the food is completely metabolized or burnt in the human body, 100 non-metric units or 420 metric units of energy will be released for use by the body. The body can use this energy for physical activity and for keeping the basic metabolic processes (digestion, breathing etc.) running. Your body may use the calories in the food to do daily work or just to provide energy for your body processes while you are sleeping. If you take in more energy in the form of calories than your body requires, that energy will be stored in the form of fat. If you take in less energy than your body requires, it will have to get some energy out of its storage depots and break down some fat to obtain the required energy, thus causing weight loss. How many calories should I eat if I want to slim down? Generally speaking, we need to reduce energy intake by 500 cal to lose between 0.5 and 1 kg per week a rate that will help to keep the weight you lose from being regained. An average, moderately active woman between the age of 18 and 50 needs 2,200 cal a day to maintain her weight. To lose weight, she needs to reduce her energy intake by 500 cal down to 1700 cal a day. An average, moderately active man between the age of 18 and 50 needs, 2900 cal to maintain his body weight. To reduce weight, an average man would have to reduce his energy intake by 500 cal down to 2400 calories a day. Is food x fattening? Many of us wonder about specific foods or beverages and whether they are fattening or not. The answer is: all foods and drinks are potentially fattening if consumed in excess. This means that even if you eat what many regard as good or healthy foods (e.g. Yoghurt, fruits, vegetables, vegetarian dishes etc.) and you eat so much that you push up your energy intake beyond your daily requirement, these good and healthy foods will still make you gain weight. The fact that a food or beverage has excellent nutritional properties does not mean it does not have the potential to make you fat if you overdo the intake. Conversely, many foods that have very high energy content, such as olive oil, are so nutritious that its a good idea to include them in your diet, but in moderate quantities. What are negative energy foods? The concept of negative energy foods and drinks is also cause for much confusion this theory is based on the fact that we use up some energy to digest foods and drink. Some foods have such a low energy content that we theoretically use up more energy than they contain to digest them. Thus, one can regard these foods as negative energy foods. Examples include lettuce, celery, tomatoes, cucumber, lemon juice, grapefruit, strawberries and other berries, cabbage, sugarless chewing gum and artificially-sweetened beverages. The problem is that people think that they can eat only these foods when they are trying to lose weight. No one can live on lettuce and tomatoes for days on end. This is a totally unbalanced diet and will result in variety of negative effects, including deficiencies, constipation, lack of energy, faintness and shakiness. The ironic thing is that if you try and lose weight by ingesting negative energy foods and artificially-sweetened drinks on their own, your body many react to this starvation regimen by shutting off its weight loss systems and you may stop losing weight altogether. Negative energy foods are excellent fillers when you are on a slimming diet. For example, having a large salad made up of these foods with cottage cheese and whole wheat bread will make a filling, low-fat, low-energy meal that will keep you satisfied for longer. May 17th, 2008 by guillemalahaye

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ispas_Marin] Ispas Marin One important thing that has provided the mankind with lots of useful materials in over the history is the palm tree. The most important materials that come from the palm tree are coconut oils. Coconut and palm kernel oils were considered very good health oils in Ayurvedic medicine almost 4000 years ago. The Sanskrit medicine found out that the coconut oils had almost the same health effects like the mothers’s milk. It was thought that the human milk worked as some kind of antibiotic after an eye surgery. But latest research has shown that there is a similarity between coconut oil and human milk: their fat or lipid content. So belive me that the medium chain fatty acids and monoglycerides found primarily in these two coconut oils and mothers milk have miraculous healing power. Knitting - My Passion

May 14th, 2008 by guillemalahaye

By Holly Burnham I always wanted to be good at something, no not just good, I wanted to excel. Everyone does, whether they admit it or not. Through the years Ive tried all the needle arts, painting, sewing, cooking, gardening. Once, and this is a secret..I tried to write a book. Knitting seems to be my niche. I get compliments on my knitting. I like getting compliments and so I knit more. My first few attempts were very sad. My sweet daughter once wore a sweater for an entire winter that, because I had run out of yarn and bought something close enough, had one sleeve a different pink than the rest of the sweater. My son wore mittens with the thumbs so misplaced his entire wrist was exposed to the snow and cold. I knit two ugly sweaters for friends of ours one Christmas and proudly wrapped and presented them. Understandably, I never saw them sport them. I am better now. I produce decent garments for my grandchildren. This current generation owes a lot to the previous one. I knit for pleasure..my pleasure, and that is a good thing. As I get older I clearly see its important to take care of yourself. Knitting takes care of me. I experience a soothing sensation as I pick up my needles and start fondling the yarn. I preen with pride when someone enthusiastically admires something Ive knitted for them. I enjoy the camaraderie of fellow needle clickers. I want you to learn to knit because I cant imagine life without this past time, but more importantly, I want you to find something that fills you with joy. I want you to find your individual passion. Humans are, by nature, creative beings. Our lives are so full we sometimes neglect to find time for our personal pursuits. In my opinion, the secret is to try anything that interests you. You will be good at some and fail at others. Somewhere in your heart is a passion you need to nurture. Holly Burnham is a self admitted yarn addict. The addiction will be life long and there is no hope of remission. Her constant knitting has put the cleanliness of her home in peril. Her yarn stashes are havens for generations of moths. White Sun - Wisdom of Life

May 9th, 2008 by guillemalahaye

By Teow Aun Chew To be able to realize our own ignorance is to be wise. Some people say that they know a lot and they are good at poetry, literature and art. But the wise may say, in fact they know is just a smattering of everything. I have met people in the spiritual field claiming that there is nothing to learn in Tao. The sage does not have this fault because he steers clear of such a fault and he knows he can never stop learning. My Heavenly Master said, “Being in the midst of the heavens and the earth, Man must not regard oneself as unsurpassed and superior to others, or consider oneself as the center of everything. This is the so-called: There are heavens exterior to a heaven; there are Men exterior to a man. You should understand that you are just a grain in a vast sea, just a grain of sand. Then, within this sand-territory of the Ganges (the entire universe), the roles that you must play are just a matter of several decades. When you have finished with singing this opera, where are you moving house again? This is uncertain. You must be far-sighted, be very sure that you don’t get attached to the beautiful scenes before your eyes and that year after year, you spend the time only in serving your own interests; only serving your own happiness! Take a look at your national heroes, the idols within your hearts. These heroes could be so peerless in their martial skills and become everyone’s idols. They can make so many people fall with one kick. But could they conquer ‘impermanence’? No, they couldn’t. Instead, they were fallen by just a gentle kick from impermanence. Hence, no matter how adaptable people are; no matter how high and unsurpassed their wisdom is, they cannot fight against a gentle blow from the impermanence. When ‘Yama’ (underworld guardian angel) sends the blank paper over (issue an order), mustn’t people let go what their hands have grasped and leave the human world?” Nobody can escape old age, sickness and death. Let’s think about this: How many happy events are there in this life? The most anxious thing for people is just hunger and cold. Even if one wears silk, drinks fine wine, tastes exotic food everyday and lives in mansion, the flesh cannot stay unwithered for a hundred years. The wealth and nobility of life is actually a dream. People are entangled by many things in the world; and these entanglements are all invited by oneself. Everyone of us must go through the sour, sweet, bitter and spicy parts of life. Human existence in the world has more suffering than joy. To put an end to this suffering, we must make contributions and build our virtues. Only with true merits and honest repentance can Heaven offer true help. Make the journey of life a meaningful one and let’s see a poem by my Heavenly Master JiGong; “Reconize the directions clearly. Turn the steering wheel on seeing the wind (grip opportunities). Rebuild a new life and seek the Root. Throw away and let go all greed, anger, ignorance and blind love and passion. To the ones with affinity, the Saints and Worthies are beckoning from afar. Do encourage yourself and do cultivate with haste.” Wisdom of life is to reconize ourselves, who we are and why we are here. In this land of endurance there is a great heap of defects and frustrations. We have a choice and don’t live without choices. Humble ourselves and learn the way to liberation of life. Use the false self (body) to save the true self (soul). Let go of all attachments and don’t crave for fame and wealth. Free ourselves from greed and worries and if we are willing to adapt to all conditions, a bitter gall-bladder can turn into a sweet spring; if we can transform the situations, a thatched cottage can be an elegant mansion too. Author: T.A Chew T.A Chew, till now has been living a simple life and his small little house temple is like a mansion with a beautiful willow tree. If ever he has to build a great mansion, it would be a great temple for all to come together to study and practise Tao. Adirondack Chairs - How to Choose One

May 3rd, 2008 by guillemalahaye

By Jennifer Akre In Blue Mountain Lake, New York, you will find a unique museum called the Adirondack Museum. According to the experts that run this museum, the Adirondack chair was originally called the Westport chair, named after a small town located nearby Adirondack Mountains. The design of the chair was first created back in 1900 by Thomas Lee. On a mission of designing a chair that could be used indoors or outdoors and one that was overly comfortable, he began his work, using standard boards and nails. After creating his prototype, he asked family and friends to see what they thought and while the Adirondack chair does not look like the most comfortable choice of chairs, they were surprised that it was actually quite comfy. Today, the Adirondack chair remains a popular choice often associated with beachfront houses, big sprawling lawns, or screened patios. However, the Adirondack chair makes a wonderful addition to any home or yard. The style of slated boards and the big wide armrest are what made Adirondack chairs well known and that style remains popular today. The armrest is especially nice in that it is wide and angled so you can easily set down a cup of coffee or glass of lemonade while relaxing in the shade. The patent for the Adirondack chair was provided in 1904 and over the following 20 years, the manufacturer made several variations of this one style. The nice thing about choosing an Adirondack chair is that again, they are extremely comfortable and for the quality and efficiency, very affordable. Most Adirondack chairs are natural wood or painted white but more and more, new colors are coming available. You can also choose from the basic Adirondack chair or go with an Adirondack lounge chair that reclines easily or even a double Adirondack chair, perfect for cuddling with someone special. If you love spending time outdoors or indoors, you will need to make sure you have a good, comfortable chair, which is exactly what you will get from an Adirondack chair. This particular chair is often handcrafted, providing a one-of-a-kind country look. The Adirondack chair adds a real touch of class. The curved back design and seat are made to wrap around the body, something you just do not get with any other type chair. The standard Adirondack chair measures 32 1/4-inches wide and 38 1/4-inches deep, and 35-inches high. Although the price of a standard Adirondack chair will vary from one maker to another, typically a price tag of $250 would be considered reasonable. Best of all, the Adirondack chair will last years and years if taken care of properly. Jennifer Akre is a successful business owner of numerous furniture websites such as http://www.AdirondackChairs-Store.com. Her sites offer product and information about outdoor furniture styles such as the Adirondack style and other decor and furniture for your garden or home.
